NANOPARTICLES AND NANOCOMPOSITES

Synthesis, purification and characterization of nanoparticles with special emphasis in graphene and their integration in composites. Development of new strategies to manufacture nanocomposites structures to enhance the additional properties of nanoparticles.

COMPOSITE DEVELOPMENT

Developments in fibers, recycling, new polymer matrices (thermoset and/or thermoplastic) and new additives (hardeners, chemical additives, nanoparticles or nanovesicles) open new possibilities towards the manufacturing of a new generation of composites with improved benefits such as improvement in electrical and thermal conductivity, cost, curing time, acoustic insulation, flame retardant, surface abrasion resistance among others properties.

MULTIFUNCTIONAL COMPOSITE DEVELOPMENT

Development of materials and structures which are able to perform multiple functions through a combination of a structural function with one or more additional functional capabilities achieved by integrating components in the composite (sensors, nanoparticles, supercapacitors, etc.)
